Where is the Algarve? The Algarve is situated along the southern stretch of the Portugal coast, adjacent to Spain. There are flights into the Algarve (FARO airport) from most UK airports.The flight is just two and a half hours from the UK. The Algarve enjoys year round sunshine and a mild winter.

What the package includes The package includes four nights stay in an aparthotel close to the main tourist resort of Albufeira, airport transfers, three guided walks, transport to walking locations and a meal in a local restaurant on the first night (excluding drinks).

What you can expect You can expect to enjoy walks amid stunning scenery, including a cliff top walk and walks in the peaceful Algarve countryside. The walks are not strenuous and will be of approximately 2 - 3 hours duration. The emphasis is very much on enjoyment of the natural suroundings, pleasant company and moderate exercise. There is plently of free time to explore the beaches close to the apartments and if you so wish sample the nightlife in nearby Albufeira. A meal and social evening on the first night is included in the price and will give you the opportunity to get to know your fellow walkers.

What is the accommodation like? The accommodation is in self-catering studio apartments within an aparthotel. There are supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and a fabulous beach within walking distance. There is a pool, gardens, hotel bar and 24 hour reception service.

What you need to pack. A stout pair of walking boots or sturdy trainers, light layers of clothing and a waterproof jacket. The Algarve enjoys sunny, mild weather in the winter and spring but it does rain! When the sun goes down, the evenings can be chilly so do pack a sweater.

How much does it cost? The total cost of the package as described above, including all transfers, is £175.00 sterling per person. A deposit of £75.00 will be required to secure the booking and the balance needs to be paid by 20th January 2007. Payment can be made by cheque or credit card.
